Support the People of HaitiWhile Stop Exploitation Now! is focused on supporting the people of Southeast Asia, we recognize the urgent need to help the Haitian people in the aftermath of January's devastating earthquake. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians remain homeless, and the need for food, medicine and other supplies remains acute. For those of you interested in helping the people affected, we encourage you to support either Partners in Health or the Jean Cadet Restavek Foundation. Both organizations were working in Haiti before the earthquake hit and are well positioned to provide appropriate care and support. Boston-based Partners in Health works in poor communities across the globe to combat disease and poverty. Having worked in Haiti for more than twenty years, Partners in Health is among the most experienced aid organizations working inside the country today. Visit the organization's Web site or contribute directly to its Stand with Haiti campaign. The Jean Cadet Restavek Foundation has a simple mission: ending child slavery in Haiti. Founded by a former domestic slave, the Restavek Foundation is presently focused on helping Haiti's children cope in the aftermath of the earthquake. Visit the Restavek Foundation Web site or watch this CNN profile of the organization's work. The slideshow below depicts ongoing Partners in Health aid efforts in Haiti. | |
